Finally we glean to gape Esther Williams flicks in glorious colors and updated sound! Not that the DVD transfers are perfect, Criterion-league: there are specks and scratches from time to time, and blacks tend to bleed, particularly in the early ones (e.g. Bathing Beauty) . But what a pleasure it is to have this glad entertainement succor, achieve together with care and intelligence. There’s bonus material galore, though not all of it dealing with the star.

Included in the Bathing Beauty disc is a ample interview Ms. Williams did with Robert Osborne for Turner Classic Movies. Ms. Williams comes across as somebody who has always been level headed, with a realistic opinion of life, aware of alternatives and skeptical of show-biz, always marveled at her top-notch fortune (wondering when it would extinguish), with the self-assurance gained from awareness of her personal worth. Nothing delusional there: underneath the Hollywood glamour, throughout her career and beyond, she has retained the mindset and integrity of a committed, champion athlete, i.e., it’s the hard work, constancy and achievement that count, not the glitz or the noise (she was slated to participate in the 1940 Olympics had WWII not interfered) . All these personal qualities advance across in her films, and probably made her a star, modern in her genre. Before, during and after, there was no other. Though she was a delicate craftsman and learned her trade well as an actress, she really only played one character, Esther Williams. Audiences flocked to “Esther Williams movies,” with all fantasy such would entail (of course, production values count) . It is difficult not to feel that she’d be a expansive friend to have. During the interview Robert Osborne can barely have his delight.
Suspend disbelief, honest savor. I hope we don’t have to wait as long for Volume 2, which would include Million Dollar Mermaid and Easy to Savor.

For fans, I would also recommend reading her down-to-earth autobiography.
Seriously…when I mediate of actors / actresses who are L-O-N-G overdue for the DVD treatment, Esther Williams is at the top of the list. Kudos to TCM for putting 5 of Ms. Williams’ wonderful films…including my all-time popular “On An Island With You”…in an affordable box plot. I’m definite Volume 2 will be greeted with equal enthusiasm by her fans and I know I’ll pre-order it the exiguous it’s available.
So what’s the colossal deal? Aside from the legendary aquatics and the intricately choreographed numbers, the films of Esther Williams are key examples of “They Don’t Effect Movies Like That Anymore” movies. They don’t, and they can’t, because the world is really a different situation. The simplicity and innocence and sweetness are qualities that exist in a readically different originate in 2007.
If your notion of cinematic romance is Tom Fly telling Renée Zellweger that she “completes” him, or Renée telling Tom that he “had her at hello,” these might not be the moral films for you. They’re more geniune, more unbiased, and warmer. They relate the absolute best that MGM had to offer.
While “On An Island With You” may not be Ms. Williams’ signature film, it has all of the elements that made her films gigantic. Ricardo Montalban, dressed in plump navy uniform, strumming a guitar under a tropical tree and crooning the opening theme as Esther swims in a shady lagoon? Genius! The four-way, star-crossed lovers subplot featuring Williams, Montalban, Peter Lawford and Cyd Charisse? The Montalban / Charisse dance number? Jimmy Durante and Xavier Cugat? What’s NOT to like in this movie?
The other four films are unprejudiced as fine, but “Island” is a personal approved.
Thanks to TCM. Can’t wait to contemplate which films are included in Volume 2.

Movie Title: Murder by Decree Murder by Decree is available for streaming or downloading. |
In my conception this is one of the best Sherlock Holmes movies yet made, with a strong, literate narrative, an outstanding cast and tremendous atmosphere. London prostitutes have been gruesomely slaughtered by Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes enters the case. The street women are panicked to death but seem to be protecting someone. One, Mary Kelly, wants to back. Another, Annie Crook, has gone missing. The more Holmes probes and searches, the more it appears that some in high places are interfering with his investigation. Annie Crook is found and the secret discovered, but not before more lives are wasted and a secret which could shake the throne is uncovered. Justice more or less triumphs, but for Holmes and Watson it is a sunless, bittersweet victory.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Murder by Decree! Click Here
The movie features, in my idea, outstanding interpretations of Holmes and Watson. Christopher Plummer gives Holmes not only brilliance but also humanity. He responds deeply to the abominable injustice he finds unhurried the Ripper killings. Mason plays Watson as an equal partner, with humor, wisdom and courage, and with none of the blundering and bluster that Nigel Bruce imprinted on the character. The cast features Genevieve Bujold as Annie Crook and Susan Clark (astronomical in Night Moves) as Mary Kelly. David Hemmings, Anthony Quayle, John Gielgud, Frank Finlay and Donald Sutherland give a lot of depth to the movie.
As by contrivance of a modest spoiler, the people who made From Hell by rights should have given a modest credit line to director Clark and writer John Hopkins. One other keen point concerns Clark. For some reason, this appears to be by far the best movie he ever made. Clark, shortly after Assassinate by Decree, gave us one of the broadest and corniest movies around, Porky’s, and seems to have stayed more or less at the Porky’s level ever since.

If you luxuriate in Sherlock Holmes along with superb acting, I assume you’ll like this film. The DVD transfer is very grand.
I appreciate Sherlock Holmes movies in their many incarnations, especially Robert Stephens version in The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (PLEASE RELEASE ON DVD in Billy Wilder’s recent LONG Design PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!) .
Buy,Download, Or Stream Murder by Decree! Click Here
However, I must deem Christopher Plummer is the best Sherlock ever. He brings so many textures and depth to his Sherlock, for once, making him a living, breathing man. In Private Life…Robert Stephens gives you a quick-witted, heart-wrenching performance - at the point he realises he was been betrayed, and with no words he conveys SO Noteworthy it nearly tears you apart. Plummer gives you a similar heart-shredder, as he pick up Annie Crook in Bedlam, tortured, no longer sane, having retreated from the horrors around her and inflicted upon her, and in the following scene on the sing toddle aid to London. In a masterpiece of blocking, you don’t even gawk Holmes, you objective his reflection in the voice window while he talks about Annie. Compelling, heartbreaking, utterly Shiny, demonstrating Plummer is one of the BEST actors ever to grace the camouflage.
The epic line of Sherlock Holmes meeting Jack the Ripper was first explored by Ellery Queen recent. In it, Holmes identified the disagreeable person as the Ripper, hence the one Holmes account never published. It is brought to Queen and he must solved the 100 year traditional case. In Stare in Scarlet, with John Neville as Holmes (another great version, but cannot compare to Decree) the Ellery Queen beginning and kill was dropped and the middle portion of Holmes chasing Jack was turned into the movie in the 1960s. Neville is a marvellous actor, but pales by comparison to the virtuoso performance of Plummer. This version of the Ripper vs Holmes, follows the Stephen Knight book exposing the Annie Crook connection.
Lots of shapely assist from a dream cast, such as Genevieve Bujold as Annie Crook, James Mason as Watson, David Hemmings as Foxborough, Susan Clark (Sister of producer/director Bob Clark - YES, people it is HARD TO Occupy the man who brought you Porkies invent this masterpiece) as Mary Kelly, Frank Finlay as Lestrade, Donald Sutherland as Robert Lees the psychic, Anthony Quayle as Sir Charles Warren and John Giegud as Lord Sailsbury.

“Cheers” is an atypical classic television spot comedy in that its first season (1982-83) is arguably its best. The exhibit won the Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: Shelley Long, Directing in a Comedy Series: James Burrows, “Showdown (Section 2),” Writing in a Comedy Series: Glen Charles, Les Charles, “Give Me a Ring Sometime,” and even Outstanding Individual Achievement/Graphic Accomplish and Title Sequences: James Castle, Bruce Bryant. This would define why the series, which finished 75th in the Nielsens with a 13.1 rating, survived on NBC’s Thursday night lineup.
Looking benefit on the series as a whole it becomes determined that one inherent advantage for “Cheers” was that no matter what joke the writers came up with there was the perfect character to yelp it. If you had a sarcastic barb then that went to Carla (Rhea Perlman), a listless comment would advance out of the mouth of Coach (Chop Colasanto), the arcane bar trivia belonged to Cliff (John Ratzenberger), the caustic non-sequiters and marriage humor was the province of Norm (George Wendt), the shiny bon mots went to Diane (Shelley Long), and Sam (Ted Danson) played the Lord of the Advance Ons. Equally as considerable, the bar where everybody knows your name was an appropriate site for all of these types of humor. As Diane says in the first episode: “Where better than here to perceive life in all its facets? People meet in bars, they section, they rejoice, they suffer, they advance here to be with their bear kind.”
But the most principal thing was that “Cheers” made the opposite attract idea work. Televison has a hard time handling romantic comedy. Making it work, like on “Lois & Clark: The Novel Adventures of Superman” is the exception; the rule is Dave and Maddie imploding on “Moonlighting.” But Cheers managed to earn the epic of Sam and Diane with its on again, off again, really off, abet on, never going to happen, then again who knows for several seasons. On the eve of her elopement Diane Chambers comes to Cheers and while sitting on a barstool sees her entire life crumble before her eyes. By the kill of the night she is a barmaid and although Diane and Sam have nothing in favorite, they are doomed. At the demolish of the season when Sam’s brother shows up to sweep Diane off her feet with an invitation to Paris, we know that Sam will finally confess his feelings (”Showdown, Piece 2″), although Diane has to threaten to accelerate her fingernails on the chalkboard to catch him to stop. Then comes one of the grand final clinches of all time.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Cheers - The Complete First Season! Click Here
I always say that I liked “Cheers” before Sam left the indicate, which confuses people since it was Shelley Long’s Diane who left the indicate (but managed to return a few times) . But my point is that the Sam of these early years, and the first season in particular, was a mighty different character from the show’s second half. There was a pathos to Sam, which disappeared when the mental image of him dancing with Diane when they were aged and grey from her final episode old away. Sam the womanizer was a joke during those final seasons: but in this first year you can scrutinize how charming he can be: the point is amply proven when Sam tells Diane where he remembers seeing the same color as he sees in her eyes. There is also an edge to Sam as an ex-baseball player (”Sam at Eleven” and “Endless Promenade”) that disappears later on as it becomes one giant joke.
When you glimpse the complete first season again on DVD you will spy that there is a serious side to “Cheers.” Survey Coach’s daughter (Allyce Beasley) try to interpret to her father that she is not resplendent in “The Coach’s Daughter” without crying. Of course that was the episode they showed to honor Sever Colasanto when he passed away. But there is also the choice episodes that feature speedily appearances (”Sam at Eleven”) and complete episodes (”Grasp a Con…Any Con”) focusing on Harry the Hat (Harry Anderson) . Another thing that helps occupy the pressure off the Sam-Diane potential romance is the bumbling antagonism between Diane and Carla. This is a constant designate that can pop up at any time during an episode, but sometimes Carla goes out of her plot to play with Diane’s mind (”Truth or Consequences,” “Father Knows Last”) .
This is my common season of “Cheers” and I am willing to remove on any and all comers who want to offer rebuttal to my claim that this is the greatest first season for any place comedy in television history. “I Fancy Lucy,” “The Honeymooners,” “The Dick Van Dyke Note,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Note,” “All in the Family,” “M*A*S*H,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” all got a lot better after their inaugural season. None of them started as immense as “Cheers” did, and if you want to discuss this over a drink I will have a cola with a couple of cherries in it, please.
If you are Cheers fan, obviously this is a must have. Where else can you net every episode from the first season in one package? The lack of extras is sad, but the reason I purchased the status and the reason I discover it is for the reveal itself.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Cheers - The Complete First Season! Click Here
Sadly, though, the episodes are not presented in their novel order. How hard would it have been to place episodes 1-6 on disk 1, and so on? What’s episode 7, Coach’s Daughter, doing placed as the second selection of disk one? I may not inspect every episode in order every single time I plan the disks, but upon my first viewing I would have liked if I could peruse the episodes in order without switching disks until I completed each disk.

Previous reviewers are inaccurate in their assertions that this DVD is a “pan and scan” version. “Where Angels Go…” was shot in the 1.85:1 format celebrated then and now, in which the entire 1.33:1 aspect ratio 35mm film frame was exposed during production. During theatrical exhibition, the top and bottom of the frame are “matted” in the projector to manufacture the 1.85:1 shroud aspect ratio. So, on this DVD, you are seeing MORE of the frame than was shown in theaters (the entire 1.33:1 frame) . There was no panning and scanning eager in this transfer. TCM has shown the recount “matted” to re-create the aspect ratio as seen in theaters. It is simply unsuitable to purchase that a “chunky frame” version of any film on DVD has been “panned and scanned” without colorful the current production format or the theatrical exhibition format.
WHERE ANGELS GO, Exertion FOLLOWS (1968) is the sequel to the 1966 surprise hit “The Anxiety with Angels”, updating the lives of the nuns of St. Francis Academy and their though-provoking pupils.

When free-thinking Sister George (Stella Stevens) plans for the girls to succor a youth rally on the other side of the country, first she must convince trusty Reverend Mother (Rosalind Russell) and the rest of the sisters. During their long bus-trip, Sister George gradually wins the admiration of the Reverend Mother, whilst troublesome students Marvel-Ann (Barbara Hunter) and Rosabelle (Susan Saint James) weave their gain heed of hijinks…
While it succeeds in reviving the characters of “The Peril with Angels”, WHERE ANGELS GO… pales in comparison with it’s predecessor. It lacks a distinct sense of innocence; which might be due to the radically shifting political and social climates in which it was filmed. In one tense scene, the bus-party is terrorised by a gang of knife-wielding bikers…a far bellow from the peaceful charms of Hayley Mills & Co. from the first movie.

Barbara Hunter and Susan Saint James don’t carry the youthful side of the cast terribly well, but they thunder solid work. It’s always a pleasure seeing Rosalind Russell, and her slyly laughable Reverend Mother is a joy. Stella Stevens takes a while to decide into her role of progressive Sister George, but she’s a gleaming presence.
The DVD is unfortunately in “Pan & Scan”, but that shouldn’t discontinuance people from enjoying this cute comedy. (Single-sided, single-layer disc) .

Movie Title: The Animatrix The Animatrix is available for streaming or downloading. |
It can be argued that this collection of 9 spirited shorts based on the world of The Matrix was as anticipated as Reloaded. I, for one, was incredibly intrigued unprejudiced by the belief. I asked myself “could any movie actually pull this off? ” The Animatrix answers my inquire. The world that The Wachowski Brothers have created truly is the Star Wars of this generation. It is a cutural phenomena, and the quality of the 9 shorts that comprise The Animatrix indicate the impact of The Matrix. Here’s a review of each short:
1) Final Flight Of the Osiris-This is the only short film to be done in 3-D. It was done, in fact, by the team leisurely the 3-D movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. It looks vast and incredibly realistic. The myth directly relates to the events in Reloaded. A gigantic procedure to kick off this collection because it is the most familiar in style and feel.
2 & 3) The Second Renaissance-This two-parter tells the fable of how man and machine came to fight against each other. Probably my celebrated of all the shorts story-wise, because it gave me chills and also made me assume scheme too distinguished about the possibilities it presents. Be warned, this is probably the most violent of all the short films here.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Animatrix! Click Here
4) Kid’s Story-Another legend that directly relates to something alluded to in Reloaded. Remember the annoying kid Neo encountered in Zion who always followed him everywhere? This is your chance to leer what that was really about.
5) Program-This short deals with the training process people who have been freed must go through. It has absoutely breathtaking animation, and is the most “anime” of the 9.
6) World Record-This yarn shows the possibilities of being “plugged-in.” Contemplate that the only map someone can be freed is by taking the red pill? Observe this. The most intriguing and inventive fable as far as I’m concerned, coupled with a novel style of animation.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Animatrix! Click Here
7) Beyond-This short deals with how the machines handled glitches in the system. It has sparkling animation, with knowing colors and a thoroughly Japanese explore.
A Detective Story-Remember Trinity’s legendary hacker set, alluded to in the first movie? This is the whole chronicle. This one has a very modern style that I contemplate fit the feel of the memoir well, and it’s nice to observe Trinity when she was unruffled the baddest hacker on the block.
9) Matriculated-Can the machines be convinced to join the human side? After all, if humans were batteries and if machines have A.I., doesn’t that gain both man and machine connected in some plot? This last short, with the best-looking animation out of the 9, answers those questions. Objective as The Second Renaissance will beget you feel for man, this one will obtain you feel for the other side.
Overall, I’d say The Animatrix succeeded what it place out to do. This was never meant to be enjoyed on the same level as the movies, it was meant to give everyone a further opinion of what The Matrix is and provide a more detailed backstory to complement the movies. It is immense to discover how the animators do sometimes recreate such effects as bullet-time. It comes very very finish to being as fair and visually comely as the movies themselves. The stories are a puny murky, but they also kind of have to be. The root of why The Matrix is so accepted is because there is nothing as painful for humans to look than well, ourselves. The Matrix is spectacular and impossible, and at the same time the emotional impact of these 9 shorts, as well as the movies, is what really keeps the audience watching.
As for the DVD itself, the menus are at once frosty and a puny bit overdone (navigating them can be a miniature curious the first time you pop it into your DVD player) . There are few extras but nothing savor, although the commentaries included on The Second Renaissance 1 and 2, Program, Beyond from the creators offer insight into the stories as well as the conceptual process (don’t misfortune they are subtitled in English) .
Overall, if you are a fan of the movie, or of animation, you owe it to yourself to check The Animatrix out. The stories are immense, the animation is both varied and dazzling, and the whole thing is, quite simply, wintry. In a word: whoa.
Okay, so this is a nice addition to the Matrix canon, and does give us a lot of help anecdote to the events that happen in the live action films.
The stories are mostly fascinating, though a couple are as shocking and troubling as possible. If you are not the kind of person that enjoys bodies being mutilated and people being killed cruelly by robots, this might not be for you. Also, if you don’t like the Matrix films, this is not for you. In fact, why are you even reading this?
The animation is mountainous, the sound is satisfactory, and overall the dvd is worthwhile. If you bask in really wild animation and special effects, you will certainly like this.
HOWEVER - honest because this is interesting does NOT mean that this is child appropriate. It is not. It is completely defective (IMO) for children under the age of 12. It is very violent and contains images that are FAR too incomprehensible for young children, not to mention R rated language. Sparkling for adults and teenagers weak enough to know the contrast between reality and movies, simply not appropriate for children.

This series had a variety of current features, a enormous cast, chemisrty, on, under & over the top plots, infuriating personalities, Bulldog the sports announcer & sexist twit with few positives, & very endearing ones Frasier, who makes a mess of things{especially his dealings with women} yet you root for him because he keeps trying.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Frasier - The Complete First Season! Click Here
Frasier Crane a psychologist played by the enigmatic Kelsey Grammer has moved from Boston wait on to his hometown of rainy Seattle to buy a job as a radio psychologist. In supporting roles are the enormous David Hyde Pierce as the even more finicky picky brother of Frasier who is also a shrink. He in my thought steals more scenes than the rest of the cast members combined. Characterize a very hyper “Felix Unger,” & you will peep how over the top Niles Crane truly is. The brothers cranky but well-liked sense father, is played by John Mahoney, who gives his exasperating sons sound advice that they rarely pick. His flaky English live in caretaker{Daphney Moon}, is the wickedly droll Jane Leeves. Frasier’s hard bitten, man crazy co-worker Roz is played by Peri Gilpin. The exchanges between her & snooty Frasier are classic.
For me this was the best season of the whole series, the stories had plenty of variety without the usual predictability that so many shows rapidly adopt. The cast had chemistry from the very begining. The relationships between the urbane brothers with its sibling rivalry & their relationship with their very provincial father was totally current on TV.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Frasier - The Complete First Season! Click Here
I can’t remember anything spellbinding sons & their father that was like this sullen trio??? The latter were the heart & soul of the prove. The best three episodes to my recollection were “The Excellent Son, Dinner At Eight, & My Coffe With Niles.” Recall this one, you will laugh until it hurts.
I found myself a while befriend with a gift certificate in hand and nothing in recognize on which to exercise it. I chanced upon a copy of Frasier’s first season on sale and, since I had always liked it when I had watched it sporadically throughout the years, I went ahead and bought it. I am delighted I did. Frasier is an bright sitcom alternative for those disillusioned with the crap you so often peruse on other comedy shows. It has incredibly talented actors, the best writing on TV (this was before Aaron Sorkin came on the scene, anyway), and its blend of family and workplace comedy allowed the reveal to try out many things, which meant that things never got lifeless.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Frasier - The Complete First Season! Click Here
The leads and supporting cast are uniformly fine. Grammer is one of the best comical actors ever and he is always grand in his signature role. David Hyde Pierce steals many scenes as Frasier’s uptight, snobbish brother Niles. John Mahoney’s Martin often plays the straight man to Niles’ and Frasier’s antics, but he has perhaps the best dry humor of anyone in the cast. Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin both brighten up the indicate as Daphne and Roz, respectively. One of the strengths of the present, though, is the strength of the supporting cast. I personally worship the character of Bulldog, the grating, cheuvenist sports note host. Gil Chesterton is also featured in one episode of the first season, his character is the hilarious but devious food critic. Frasier’s manipulative agent Bebe shows up here, as does Lilith, and both are improbable. Simply set, the abet cast is so strong the cast can feel like an ensemble at times.
The first season’s highlights include Frasier and Niles going out to dinner with Martin at a decidedly non-fancy establishment (Dinner at Eight), a touching Christmas episode (Miracle on Third or Fourth Street), a return by Frasier’s ex, Dr. Lilith Sternin (The Reveal Where Lilith Comes Benefit), and an episode revolving about the titular “My Coffee With Niles,” in which Niles admits to his attraction to Daphne. That attraction was the cause of many laughable moments in the first few years, when Niles and Maris were aloof together.
All in all, this exhibit has always been humorous and literate and successful; it shows that there is a market for intelligent TV out there.

This collection of “classic” science fiction gets three stars for value because there are fifty movies for an incredibly crude imprint. On the other hand, you rep what you pay for. Some movies in this group almost rise to the level of classic; including a couple that surprised me. Most of these movies are Mystery Science Theater 3000 fodder, and many of them actually appeared on MST3000. Highlights, or lowlights, as you prefer:

The Atomic Brain: Expose some scantily clad babes, slap the word atomic brain for a title and you have a colorful science fiction movie; or not.

Teenagers from Outer Space: There are actually some arresting moments in this movie. It’s a profitable thing they failed to peek malls.
Crash of Moons and Menace from Outer Space: Early television science fiction. I fancy the costumes on the ladies!

The Lost Jungle Volumes 1 and 2: Broad white hunter leer amusing in jungle.
Mesa of Lost Women: Lacks bite.
Assignment: Outer Space: Needs reassigned.
Laser Mission: This movie needs gash.

White Pongo: The gorilla suit from Bride of the Gorilla gets bleached. This movie is actually decent.
Snow Creature: Begins with promise and leaves you icy.
Devil of the Desert Against the Sons of Hercules: Actually watchable.
First Spaceship on Venus: Probably the last too.
Zontar-Thing from Venus: Attack of the…never mind.
The Astral Factor: Stefanie Powers is the only hot thing in this movie.
The Galaxy Invader: You might be a redneck if you are in this sunless movie.
Battle of the Worlds: Battle of Staying Awake.

Blood Tide: James Earl Jones, Jose Ferrer and Mary Louise Weller are doing exquisite until they encounter a cheesy monster.
The Brain Machine: Is brain lifeless.
Wild Women of Wongo: I ain’t saying nothing.
Prehistoric Women: Hot hairdo women in caves.
They Came from Beyond Space: Considering that this movie is one of the best in this collection, I should be nice to it.
Warning from Space: Crams too many chronicle lines into less than an hour and a half, but otherwise a decent movie.
Eegah: The prototype for the character Jaws in the James Bond movies, only living in a cave.
Planet Outlaws: It’s Buck Rogers!
Phantom Planet: Has its moments, expedient, dreadful, and poor.
Colossus and the Amazon Queen: Rod Taylor in a amusing sword and sandals movie; about as terrible as it sounds.
Destroy All Planets: Gammera (or Gamera) trots about saving diminutive boys that recall submarines and win captured by aliens.
Please forgive me if I missed a movie or two in this list. There are a lot of movies in this collection, so I might have overlooked one, either unintentionally or intentionally. If you are a gigantic science fiction fan, you will bask in many of these movies. Even the movies you gain less than okay are trustworthy for one glimpse, and the notice of this collection will maintain your personal hurt uncouth. Splendid luck!
SciFi Classics is a collection of 50 movies that have only one thing in common: they are all public domain and as such it is possible for them to be presented in highly affordable collections. I paid $21.99 for my position and that comes down to about 44 cents per movie. The design that movie tickets cost nowadays, you really cannot complain about this collection.

Movie Title: Trapped in Paradise Trapped in Paradise is available for streaming or downloading. |
I’ve been waiting patiently forever for this movie to finally approach out on DVD. Nicholas Cage, John Lovitz and Dana Carvey construct this movie utterly hilarious throughout. Cage plays the typical normal, logical, calculating brother of the 3. John Lovitz is the brother you can never trust and Carvey is a goofy, klepto-maniac who hardly uses any well-liked sense. When these 3 reach together in a scene it’s hard to imagine something droll “not” happening. 3 Diverse and conflicting personalities compose for a large comedy farse!
Way benefit in 1990 something when this movie came out, it was screened as a student feature at the college I was attending at the time prior to it’s release in theathers. I went with a fine friend of mine, and we seemed to be the only people in the theater laughing. After the movie hit theaters, all of the reviews were negative as if the movie featured a cast of unknowns instead of three very well established entertainers, two of whom are very gifted comedians. While all three actors have had better roles, they work well together with Cage being the straight man to Lovitz and Carvey’s comedic banter. Yes, I realize that the premise of this movie is somewhat far fetched, but that’s why it’s a movie and not a news record. The movie has its resplendent section of laughs with a healthy dose of Christmas spirit. It gets watched every holiday season at my house, and I recommend it to anyone who is profitable of watching a movie and being OK with the fact that it is a work of FICTION! Anyway, indulge in the movie, the calesthenics schtick by Lovitz during the bank robbery alone is worth the effect of admission.

A very bright documentary on the art and science eager in manufacturing a samurai sword. The meander begins with the selection of the metal and the viewer then follows craftsmen producing a sword using the same techniques as their ancestors. Interwoven are scenes with swordsmen demonstrating their skills on bamboo targets and a brief history of the samurai and historical employ of these weapons. Current science is ragged to clarify the strength of the sword and the reason gradual the shape of the blade. My only criticism is making the handles, which can be quite ornate, was not explored. The focus is on the blade.
Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in martial arts and weaponry in particular.

Roughly an hour long bright documentary of how the rotten sword of the Samurai, the Katana, is made. Learn in detail about every keen facet of the history and the extraordinary amount of work and skill that goes into making what is, I contain, the best sword in the world for over a thousand years.
Starting at the very beginning with the smelting of the special high grade iron sand that is only found in definite stream beds in Japan, to the 36 hour forging process keen by a skilled master in making the initial block of iron called Tamahageny. Pieces of which are passed onto another forge master to create the sword template and then to yet another master craftsman who polishes & sharpen and embellishes the blade with engravings etc.

Seen recently on the National Geographic Channel and featuring Dr Stephen Turnbull and Ian Bottomley, this major work is made all the more intriguing with many clips of some of the last master sword makers around.
To survey the amount of the physical work & exertion and time and labour that goes into making one of these masterpieces is truly fabulous. Current day metallurgists are astounded and even baffled by draw these swords are so perfectly made without relying on computers or robots or the utilize of complex formulas, chemistry or other measuring equipment, objective the naked study to measure the temperature of the flame and years of experience.
UK Viewers: WARNING!! Please originate obvious that your DVD can play with Dwelling 1 DVD’s and that your TV is NTSC compatible first.
